Relocation

We moved to Georgia! The small town of Dallas, to be exact. We are set to close on this house on December 7th. Ignore me, I wasn't expecting to be in the picture. I don't even know what I was doing...Anyway, we are very excited to live here. Most of George's family lives here, and it has been great getting to see them more.

Sadly, we do miss the snow in Utah, but lucky for us we will be going to Spokane for Christmas, so I'm sure we'll still get to experience plenty. Also, word on the street is that if it even threatens to snow just 1 inch here, school is canceled, everyone calls in sick to work, and there is a big party! Except no one leaves their house and all the bread and milk are gone from the shelves of all the supermarkets.

Differences I've noticed since being here: everyone calls shopping carts buggies. Weird. Instead of saying someone called in, (as in called in sick to work) they say someone called out. That doesn't make sense. Furthermore, it is humid, but it's getting better now that it's colder. I am losing weight because there is no cafe rio within walking distance. There are more bugs. The lakes here are not ideal (they are too warm!! it's too weird and for some reason it is yucky to me).

But, I can't wait until we can go to the ocean next year! I've been doing some research and there are some GREAT places close by (Tybee Island, where the 2010 blockbuster hit "The Last Song" was filmed) We also have yet to venture deep into the heart of Atlanta, so that's definitely on our list as well.

George just turned 28 (old man status).

For all you faithful readers out there, his allergy shots were discontinued because he developed a bout of globus, and swore off all future shots. Which means we don't ever get to have one of these :(

Now I don't know why my font is changing here. But they also asked all those living in the greater Atlanta area to create a profile on Mormon.org, and share it with the world! So here is mine :) (And the cool thing is they asked everyone in Spokane to do it too! So even if we had moved to Spokane I still would get to create one!) http://mormon.org/me/7KR3/

Weekend Update

This weekend was my birthday. For dinner, we went to the Melting Pot. It was delicious. You better believe we ate it all. And yes, that is the same locket necklace I've had for 3 years without ever putting a picture of a small animal inside.

This is how we felt after the last course.
We couldn't even finish the 2nd round of cheesecake.

During the dinner, somehow G and I got on the topic of my necklace. I open it to show him that yes, it's still empty, only to discover this:
A 13-year-old picture of George? Not creepy at all. Apparently last week sometime he spent an hour cutting out an old tiny photo of himself.

Moving on to pictures of Christmas! Mackay got an origami book, and made sure George and I both had animal hats before we left. Mine is a surprised pig, and George's is a calico cat.
Here they are all tuckered out!
Here is a present Mackay gave to Emma: an empty crest cardboard carton that says "brush your teeth" on the inside. Best gift ever.

George is on a volleyball team that plays in a real league.

And last but not least, I just got a full time position in the optical department, meaning better insurance coverage, meaning george can start allergy shots, meaning in one year we will have one of these.
