Oh Christmas Tree

We braved the 45 minute drive to costco so we could get a cheap tree...we stopped at a Xmas tree stand by the side of the road and they wanted $135! (We wanted a tall one because we have high ceilings now) so that price kept us headed toward costco where we paid a cool $27.99 for a 9 1/2 footer (yes I measured, and yes I am counting that super long scraggly branch on the top). So take that Vicki's Christmas Trees.

We also let Eva pick out her very first ornament the other day and she really wanted this awesome dinosaur, she told me in her sleep.

Thanksgiving

Due to some sickness in the area, I found out a few days before that I would be hosting thanksgiving dinner at my house! Don't worry I already had most everything I needed. George and i have been wanting to host a big get together for a while in our new house, so it was great to finally have the opportunity. The perfect amount of people came (9 not counting us), but next year we will welcome more! That's right I said next year. We decided that it went so perfectly that we will host thanksgiving at our house every year and whoever wants to come is welcome. Also for anyone who really knows me knows that I am specifically picky with certain holiday food being a certain way...so I relish the opportunity to cook it all. And with george doing all the cleaning it doesn't get much better than that. Unfortunately I only have one picture of thanksgiving day... Uncle Spencer wanted to embarrass Eva by taking a picture of her belly/pants, and proceeding to call it a "Dunlap," as in "her belly dunlap over her pants." Rude. But here it is.

Side note, I am having troubles buying Eva pants...many of them are way to small and squeeze her little (or big) belly...which I don't find out until after I wash them. Maybe my next baby girl will be slender? I can't wait to have another!

Also I must include a picture of her in her Thanksgiving week sale goods.

Halloween

I got a baby giraffe costume before Eva was born, therefore when I thought she would be a boy. But we kept it, and I tried girlying it up, but then thought she was cutest in just the plain costume.

We went to the trunk or treat, where she fell asleep before getting any treats. Halloween night we went to my sister-in-law's house, and as soon as we walked down the street she was asleep again. It must be the combo of warm costume and chilly night air. She sure was cute! Also, who makes a giraffe costume without the horns and with the wrong coloring! Many people thought she was a cow...I even tried making her girly giraffe horns, but figured she then looked like an alien giraffe. Here are all her costume variations.

Carlton Farms

We continued our annual tradition of going to Carlton Farms the weekend after Halloween, and we still love it! We just couldn't wait to show Eva all the fun things we discovered the previous year.

First there was the really long bumpy slide. We took 5 videos in all of us going down, and the background looked awesome! Anyway, Eva loved it we were sure.

We had to get some classic face in the cutout shots, only of Eva of course.

Then we noticed the hay ride was about to leave so we all hopped aboard and she seemed bored until the cows started congregating around the hay wagon to eat hay out of our hands...and then she still seemed bored! But I will say she was really tired and I was surprised she stayed awake for the whole ordeal.

Next we got back to the farm, checked out the petting zoo where she wasn't interested in much of anything...There was a nice goat though, whose head was sticking through the fence, ready to pose for pictures. He was really trying to get her to pet him but I was scared of her touching anything due to her constantly sucking on her hands.

Then we knew she was exhausted so we headed out, but not before we did our classic photoshoot in the corn maze.

I love my baby!

So i need to really start documenting more of my life with a baby, so here goes! And first i will start by telling everyone how big and smart and cute she is.

When she was only a month and a half old she first rolled from her belly to her back. I have a couple videos, both involving nude buns :) and me sounding really embarrassing, plus I don't know how to publish videos so that will not be happening right now.

At her 2 month appointment she weighed 13lbs15.5oz...so we round up to 14 lbs. Go baby grow!

She likes smiling at herself in the mirror, she likes smiling at her glowy friends on her mobile, and she loves smiling at her best friend - a rattle-bellied lion that hangs from her activity mat. But only if he hangs on her right side- move him to the left and she could care less. But when he is on her right she will smile and coo and swat at him for 30 minutes at a time sometimes. And then i miss her so I have to pick her up.

She is also super cute right before she falls asleep- if I am singing to her she will start singing too and smiling, and then she'll be asleep a few minutes later.

And finally I love when she stretches! After nursing, in the middle of sleeping, and when she wakes up, she throws her arms up, arches her head back, and wiggles just one of her little fists really fast.

I just want to squeeze her in a bear hug all the day long.

Oh and it's funny anytime she toots.
