Updates on life

So many things!

1. Eva says "love baby" every day, multiple times a day. Meaning she loves the baby. She also talks to him in a high pitched voice, prays for him at every prayer, sings to him, looks at him and tells him she sees him, tells me when she feels him move, and gets sooo excited every time she sees my belly...and still gives him lots of kisses and hugs. Sometimes I really need to get ready and dressed to go somewhere and she won't let me until she is done looking at/petting (her words, not mine)/talking to the baby.

1.b. Eva has a beanie babie sized sheep (Sheepy) that she loves having help her do everything. He can help tape up birthday presents, color, clean up, and a million other things I can't think of right now. But he is soooo helpful it's awesome.

2. We went to the zoo a few weeks ago and she wasn't as excited as I thought she should be about the whole experience but I did get a couple great shots.

3. I can sew things. I've made two items so far.

I attached a washcloth to a towel to make a hood, and turns out I hate the design/sewing instructions and am not impressed. Eva is also not impressed. But I'm impressed with myself.

And a baby floor blanket. Nothing elaborate, but hopefully this will just lead to prettier and better things!

4. Eva is awesome at drawing the letter E. She practices on her own, she'll do it on command, and she counts the lines coming out of it. These are some of her mock-ups from today.

5. I'm 39 weeks preggers. This is a blurry picture from a week ago...I'm way bigger than I was with Eva!

6. Eva loves hats! She wears them around the house and to the store and this is her current fave.

I also wish this picture wasn't blurry...Halloween spoiler alert!

7. If you don't follow me on Instagram, we went to the park the other day, and as Eva always does, she ate 75% of the bread we brought for the ducks/geese/fishies. We also found a see saw bouncer thing that is perfect for working with our weight differences! Genius!

8. She loves books, singing, dancing, being outside, watercolor painting, motorcycles, animals (mostly kitties and doggies and bunnies...we were driving home today and George and I were talking about how we almost kind of {but not even close} won a bunny at a craft fair right after Eva was born and then she started doing her little fake dramatic cry that she does all the time these days and said she wanted a bunny). On that note she was sitting in a chair watching me make a smoothie and she said "I crying" and then she started her same fake dramatic cry for at least two minutes. And now let me tell you absolutely everything she does every day because all of it is awesome and cute and funny and silly.

9. She's going through an extra-shy phase right now...even around Uncle Pepper! But we love her shyness and are glad she will never walk away with a stranger who offers her candy. And we love her shy snuggles! I am trying to work with her on saying hello to people in stores who make an effort to talk to her, but it's not going very well.

The end.

For Amie

So this one time I bought her a jacket for $1, and this was her best shot....

And we like to have picnics on our back porch and take candid pictures of ourselves smiling at each other in our picnic hats (she picked mine out)

Sometimes I think she looks like her cousin Miles...don't mind the picture, we were taking a family photo

And this is that time when Aunt Lizzie mailed her a candy necklace to get her stoked for nursery...it totally worked!!

Ok so maybe it was the elaborate decorations, the fancy cakes, the princess tiaras and medals of excellence, the constant bubble machine, the tiny guitar, or the tropical air fresheners...either way this girl has been terrified of nursery since she could go, for 3 months now. But the curse is broken! Just in time for me to have another baby and start all over again!

Checking out the streamers, and yes that is my weird poky-looking belly in the side of the shot...

Now here she looks suspicious, and rightly so because we are about to leave her, but she had the best time!! I'm sure it also has nothing to do with the fact that Aunt Lizzie is her nursery leader...she better get a million blessings in heaven for reeeeally taking her calling to the next level.

And if all that wasn't enough...this is what she made in nursery for Mother's Day. So perfect!

Whew, ok moving on, One morning as I was too groggy to get out of bed she got herself dressed and ready to go to church. Mind you that is a size 3 month skirt...I don't know where she found it.

Mother's Day 2014...not our best shot, but our only shot. If you look reeeeally closely you can see the elephant necklace Eva got me.
Sometimes she doesn't want to take pictures of her pretty necklace we just strung together...
But then I tell her to put her hands on her hips and, bonus, she sticks her tongue out too.

She says the funniest things and is basically the best little girl in the world!

The end.

The Beachy Beach

We went to Destin and it was a-mazing!

I made sure to get an ocean front room so we could walk straight to the beach...no car required! This was our view from our room when we first got there.

And we even had a view on the side of our balcony - to the swimming pool! Which was the most exciting part of Eva's vacation. She would go out on the balcony and just sit in the corner and stare at the pool for MINUTES at a time! Like a lot of minutes...

But we had great weather the whole time, and it was just great!

Oh and we figured out how to get Eva to smile for pictures....she has this great fake laugh montage she does, and one-third of it involves smiling :)

Another third involves a big open mouth such as this

And then the other third is this darling face! Also notice her hand on her hip...I am teaching her all the tricks early!

And then she kissed me straight on the mouth!

And then she took the longest nap on the beach ever...three hours long and we had to wake her up when we were leaving...but I understand. The ocean sounds! (Her normal naps are 1.5-2 hrs)

While she slept we took turns swimming out to an embankment you could stand up on in the ocean maybe 100 yards out? It was SUPER cool, I went first and on my way back saw twenty jumping/flying fish! So I knew it was magical and then I made George do it. He made it out there, stayed there forever and then made it back and told me I'd have to try harder than that to kill him. He has a reeeeally dramatic story about his experience and how he wanted to flag down the boat behind him because he knew he'd drown if he tried to swim back to shore and a bunch of other details that he really wants to make into an episode of "I shouldn't be alive." He only saw one jumping/flying fish.

Oh and Eva would go out in the waves a little bit, but she much preferred the safety of her dirty warm little river...she really loved playing in this thing with all her shovels and buckets.

Don't mind all the re-used photos.

The second morning we were there Eva woke up ridiculously early (from the one hour jet lag time zone difference), but it ended up working out for us. We opened up our balcony and saw...DOLPHINS! Lots of dolphins swimming in small groups in between the embankment and the shore. And then a huge flock of pelicans flew right over our heads! And THEN we saw two giant shadows swimming right along the shore almost and decided they were sting rays. It was like animal planet right in front of us!!

On our last day we got our kite out and walked down for a last hurrah in the sand. We got a picture of a bird and fish together.

This girl loves sand. So much.

The end.

Randoms...

Never published facts from about two weeks ago:

Eva says "excuse me" to people and also to inanimate objects such as her little rocking chair if it's in the way, things on the floor she's trying to walk around, things in her car seat cup holder she's taking out, etc.

Her favorite movie is frozen, or "snowman" as she calls it. I have the soundtrack on spotify and when she hears one of the opening songs, either the ice song or the opening credits song, she comes running in front of the tv to check if it's on.

She loves singing happy birthday to lots of different people in our extended family, to the baby boy a lot, but mostly to Rosalyn Bush, i.e. her middle and last name. She is reeeeally excited to have a birthday party. I told her we could have one when baby boy is born and she brings up party hats at least once a day. Big big big party hats for everyone and teeny tiny little little party hats for the baby. She also makes accompanying finger pinching motions when saying big or little.

Easter was the BEST. Apparently kids are awesome! Eva was SO excited to find her Easter basket on the coffee table after spinning in a few circles by the window looking all over for it. She also loved finding eggs outside in the backyard - as soon as she found one she had to sit down and open it up and play with whatever was inside. Thank goodness there was no candy in them and only her already owned toys and jewelry :)

She wakes up in the morning shouting out various things....today it was "fruit snacks! Buy some!"
